Redknee Supports Mobile Broadband In Middle East

January 21, 2018

Redknee (TSX: RKN), a leading provider of business-critical software and solutions for communications service providers, is pleased to announce that a leading service provider in the Middle East and Africa has increased its investment in Redknee’s data rating and charging solution driven by the continued strong growth in demand for its mobile broadband services.

This expansion effort has more than doubled the operator’s data charging capacity and equips it with the ability to provide its data services to a larger subscriber base.

This is one of many EMEA operators leveraging Redknee’s systems to support their mobile broadband growth strategy.

Since the operator launched its mobile broadband services, the demand has significantly outpaced original projections.

According to Informa Telecoms & Media, current industry projections for the Middle East see mobile data revenues growing by 118 per cent between 2015 and 2012.

As a result of innovative new offerings such as prepaid mobile broadband, service uptake has been dramatic and the network service provider needed to plan ahead for future growth.

By leveraging Redknee’s scalable Next Generation Rating and Charging (NGRC), the service provider is able to manage the rating and charging of all its data services, and offer a better subscriber experience by enabling innovative service bundles and transparent pricing options that allow their customers to track their spending in real-time.

The service provider’s mobile broadband service, for example, enables subscribers to be notified of the associated costs so that they can agree to the charges before they receive the actual service, giving them full control and visibility of their mobile experience, including pricing and payment options.

The increased transparency and control over their service usage and expenditures has been a key factor in the success of the operator’s mobile broadband offering.

“Redknee supports an increasing number of successful mobile service providers in implementing their mobile broadband growth strategy.

Redknee’s next generation data rating and charging systems enable the delivery of popular, easy to understand mobile subscriber bundles and plans.

Redknee is pleased to be able to support this operator group from our new regional centre in Lebanon, especially as we expand this relationship and help prepare for further growth throughout the region.” Lucas Skoczkowski, Redknee’s CEO, commented.

“At Redknee, we are continuing to take market share in the real-time rating and charging of data services and in the turnkey converged billing market, which is in line with our growth strategy.”
